A Famous First

A child named Snorro was the first baby born on the American continent to European parents. Snorro's parents were Gudrid and Thorfinn Karlsefni, Norse people, who along with about 160 others, formed a settlement in 1007 in a place they named Vinland, which is believed to be Nova Scotia or an area on the coast of Maine. When Snorro grew up, he moved to Iceland.
